Famed for its visually innovative, multi-media performances, Powerplant operates at the forefront of the alt-classical scene, presenting percussionist Joby Burgess in collaboration with video artist Kathy Hinde and sound designer Matthew Fairclough.

Since making its debut at The Southbank Centre on 19 July 2005 in a programme compromising the music of Kraftwerk and Steve Reich, Powerplant has toured the UK extensively and appeared on the international stage including - Le Possion Rouge (New York) RC4 Festival (Brazil) and Verbier International Arts Festival.

Powerplant has released three albums compromising a mix of original compositions and remixes - Electric Counterpoint (2008) and 24 Lies Per Second (2012) on Signum Records and Import/Export (2010) on Nonclassical Records.
